Christmas at Bute Park has unveiled a new light trail route for 2026, featuring a giant Brussels sprout Christmas tree, mischievous elves and interactive installations.
The Cardiff festive event, which has welcomed more than half a million visitors over five years, will introduce four themed realms: Joy, Wonder, Hope and Magic.
Visitors will be invited to help keep the Christmas Spirit alive as they journey through the trail, with new experiences designed to make this year’s event more immersive and interactive.
Among the additions is Colossal Christmas, a supersized Brussels sprout Christmas tree decorated with enormous crackers and twinkling lights.
Rainbow Ribbons will lead visitors through a rainbow tunnel beneath an overhead UV canopy of colour, while Cosmic Canopy will feature Father Christmas and his reindeer soaring across a sky of twinkling constellations.
Another installation, Awaken the Light, will invite visitors to tap a glowing snowflake. Their interaction will send a wave of light racing up a towering Christmas tree before a shower of lasers bursts overhead.
Guests will also be able to make a Christmas wish at the Garden of Wishes and finish the trail with a dance at the Disco of Dreams, accompanied by festive favourites.
The Christmas Village will return with food and drink from familiar providers alongside new street food vendors. Choir performances will also form part of the festive experience.
Two inclusive evenings are planned for neurodiverse guests, with reduced audience capacity and lower audio volume.
Tickets are available through the Christmas at Bute Park website.
