Three people have been jailed following a search of a property in Penywaun in April 2026
Ashley Clarke, 24 from Aberdare was sentenced to 2 years and ten months in prison and disqualified from driving for two years following his conviction
Bradley Clarke-Wright, 27 from Aberdare was sentenced to three years and three months following his conviction.
David Price, 44 from Aberdare was sentenced to three years and three months following his conviction.
The trio were sentenced at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Wednesday September 2 where Clarke pleaded guilty to one count of concerned in the supply of cocaine, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and being concerned in the supply of a class B drug- cannabis.
Clarke-Wright pleaded guilty to one count of concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of a class B drug- cannabis and acquire/ use of criminal property.
Price pleaded guilty to one count of concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of a class B drug- cannabis and possession with intent to supply a class a drug -MDMA.
This follows officers from our serious organised crime unit attended an address in Penywaun in April 2026, as intelligence showed Clarke to be running a drugs line in the area. When officers went to the address, Clarke tried to run from police but was quickly arrested. During the arrest Clark’s brother Clarke-Wright approached police, he was arrested as he was wanted for another offence, when officers searched him, they found £10,000 of cash and a phone with messages linking him to the drugs line.
Following searches of the address officers found drugs, drug paraphernalia and cash. During the download of Clarke-Wrights phone, Price was mentioned in various messages related to drug supply. Officers went to this address in Penywaun and recovered more drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Police Constable Arron Howitt said“This group is yet another drug group who was discovered as part of our investigations into drug supply in Aberdare.
“Like so many others before them, there involvement in this illegal trade has resulted in them getting a lengthy prison sentence”
