A striking new mural has transformed a previously plain city centre wall, with support from Swansea Council.
Created by Swansea artist Gareth Lye, the artwork stands more than 11m high and 9m wide on Park Street, beside the Kardomah café.
It forms part of Muriau Mawr, a growing trail of large-scale murals across the city centre.
Council cabinet member Elliott King said: “This eye-catching artwork has transformed an uninteresting wall into something people can enjoy every day.
“Projects like this help improve the local environment, celebrate creativity and give residents and visitors even more reason to spend time in our city centre.”
The council-sponsored mural was developed through engagement with young people from Circus Eruption, supported by MIOE Creative Productions. Their ideas helped inspire a design featuring Swansea Castle and a cast of imaginative characters.
Gareth Lye said: “Their creativity helped shape the final artwork, and I hope people enjoy discovering the characters and Swansea-inspired details within it.”
Muriau Mawr was developed by FIYA Creative and brings artists, communities and partners together to create distinctive public art.
