A popular Cardiff toy shop has launched an ‘everything must go’ sale ahead of closing its current city centre store and moving to a bigger location.

The Entertainer is currently offering 25% off everything at its Queen’s Arcade store as it prepares to relocate to St David’s Cardiff.

When we visited the store, much of the stock had already been snapped up, with shoppers taking advantage of the discount ahead of the closure.

The retailer has now also confirmed that its new, larger St David’s store will open on Saturday, 10 October.

The Entertainer announced plans earlier this year to relocate from Queen’s Arcade to St David’s, with its new shop set to be around 25% larger than its existing Cardiff city centre location.

At the time of our previous report, St David’s had confirmed the retailer was preparing to open but an exact opening date had not yet been announced.

Staff at the existing store are now handing out flyers promoting the new opening and offering shoppers £5 off when they spend £25 during the opening weekend, provided they bring the flyer with them.

The move will give The Entertainer a larger presence in the heart of Cardiff’s main shopping district.

The retailer is one of the UK’s best-known toy shops, stocking a wide range of branded toys, games, arts and crafts, outdoor toys and costumes.

Its current Queen’s Arcade shop will close as part of the relocation, with the clearance sale now under way ahead of the move.

The new The Entertainer store at St David’s Cardiff will open on Saturday, 10 October.
