Wales is set for a wet and windy start to Friday, with heavy rain and blustery conditions giving way to brighter spells as the day progresses.
The Met Office has forecast a changeable few days ahead, with a mixture of sunshine, showers and further rain expected across Wales between Friday 9 October and Tuesday 13 October.
Friday will begin on a milder note, although rain, which could be heavy at times, will be accompanied by blustery winds.
The rain is expected to clear southeastwards during the afternoon, allowing some sunshine to break through. However, conditions will remain breezy, with the possibility of isolated showers later in the day, particularly across northern and western areas.
Temperatures will gradually fall as the day progresses, with a maximum of 17°C forecast.
Cooler night ahead
Friday evening will bring some clear spells alongside light showers, although the showers are expected to become more frequent during the early hours of Saturday.
Winds will gradually ease overnight, but temperatures will drop to around 8°C, making it a chillier night than Thursday.
Sunshine and showers on Saturday
Saturday is expected to bring a mixture of sunshine and scattered showers across Wales.
Despite the unsettled conditions, there should be plenty of sunny intervals between the showers, offering some brighter periods throughout the day.
Both the showers and winds are expected to ease during the evening.
It will feel cooler than Friday, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 15°C.
More rain expected on Sunday
Sunday will begin with some brighter conditions before another spell of rain arrives from the southwest.
The unsettled weather will continue into Monday, with patchy light rain and drizzle expected across parts of Wales.
However, there is better news for Tuesday, when the rain is forecast to clear, making way for sunnier skies.
Temperatures are also expected to become milder again as southerly winds develop.
The Met Office has summarised the outlook for the coming days as a “wet, blustery start, turning brighter later.”
