A Bridgend-headquartered electronic repairs company is celebrating record turnover as it looks to continue its expansion plans.

Kontroltek, which was founded by Andrew Follant, began trading in January 2012 and has grown every year from its base in Bridgend and from a second facility in the West Midlands. The business, named on the recent Fast Growth 50 list, had a turnover of £3.1m in the last financial year, with predictions this year exceeding £4m.

Speaking of the firm’s success, Managing Director Andrew Follant said:

“Our success to date has been down to our people and our experience. As a company, we are committed to an ongoing investment in our people and our equipment. During 2017 we invested over £250,000 in relocating to a new 24000 square foot facility in Bridgend to enable us to meet our future growth plans.

“We have recently created a dedicated R&D team within the business to ensure we keep abreast of technological developments and to help ensure we continue to meet our customer’s needs.

“Our apprenticeship programme continues to flourish, with four engineering apprentices currently at differing points in their training, alongside further training programmes being run for all existing engineering staff. Investment in our people is an investment in our future.”

Kontroltek is becoming well established in the UK and has its sights set on growing its business in Europe in the near future.

Mr Follant said: “We began to operate in Poland in late-2017 and this is showing encouraging signs and we are also looking at a variety of models elsewhere in Europe, specifically utilising our existing relationships in Germany, Italy and Spain as we have no doubt that our business has a future in dealing with our continental neighbours whatever framework we have to work within.

“Our plan for the next three years is to continue growing throughout the UK and Europe and for Kontroltek to be recognised as amongst the premier Industrial Electronic Repair companies in the UK and Europe. This is an ambitious target but we are an ambitious company.”
