Terminal illness charity, Marie Curie would like to say a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to its supporters in across Wales who gave their time to hand out its iconic daffodil pins, in return for donations.

Marie Curie says that the appeal is urgently needed as one in four people currently don’t receive the care and support they need at the end of their life*, and with the population getting older, demand on the charity’s services is set to increase.

The money raised will help Marie Curie Nurses be there for more people living with a terminal illness, providing them with vital one-to-one nursing care and support in their own homes.

Marie Curie Community Fundraiser for West Wales, Chris Roberts said:

“We are so grateful to all our collectors. It wasn’t easy. Even though the weather was against us the Marie Curie volunteers were not deterred and braved the conditions to ensure our nursing service is adequately funded.

Every daffodil helps us care for more people – this is what makes the Great Daffodil Appeal so important.”

Marie Curie is now appealing for adventurous individuals to take on the challenge of a lifetime – The Vietnam Trek for Marie Curie Wales in Autumn 2019. The charity says “This challenge is a fantastic opportunity to explore the traditional charm and rare beauty of this untouched part of Asia while raising money for Marie Curie.”

For more information about this or anything else please contact Chris Roberts on 01554 759071 or [email protected].

The charity would like to say “Thank you again to all our wonderful supporters. We’ll see you all again for The Great Daffodil Appeal in 2019!”
