    Visit The Royal Mint Experience this Half Term to Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Gruffalo

    A gruffalo? What’s a gruffalo? Discover The Gruffalo this half term at The Royal Mint Experience and get involved in a range of Gruffalo themed activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of one of the world’s favourite literary monsters.

    Immerse yourself in the tale of The Gruffalo, and join the little brown mouse on a series of adventures throughout the day. As the story of The Gruffalo comes to life, you’ll have the opportunity to meet some of Mouse’s friends along the way and face a number of challenges on your journey through the forest.

    The famous story of brain over brawn, written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler was first publish twenty years ago. In this time, it has become a firm bedtime favourite with over 13.5 million copies being sold worldwide, with the tale and stunning illustrations proving to children globally that monsters can be friendly.

    The Royal Mint Experience provides a great opportunity to go behind the scenes and discover stories from The Royal Mint’s 1,100 year history. Visitors can see for themselves how coins are made, then tour through a series of walk-through interactive exhibition zones than bring the organisation’s rich heritage to life. Recently, The Royal Mint Experience introduced a new temporary exhibition to celebrate 50 years in Llantrisant, where individuals have the opportunity to hold a gold bar worth approximately £400,000. Visitors will also be able to strike their very own 2019 dated 50p Britannia New Pence in Brilliant Uncirculated quality. After striking the coin will be placed in special, augmented reality enabled packaging.

    The Gruffalo themed activities are free for anyone who buys a ticket for a tour of The Royal Mint Experience.
