Popular market to set up stalls in St Paul’s Walk

Tasty treats and crafts will be on offer in a recently created public space in the heart of the city centre on Saturday 28 April.

Cotyledon, who organise regular open air markets in Friars Walk and Belle Vue Park, will be bringing the event to St Paul’s Walk in Commercial Street between 10am and 4pm.

St Paul’s Walk was created as part of the city’s successful Vibrant and Viable Places programme (VVP).

As well as acting as a link between Commercial Street and Kingsway, it is a landscaped public space where events can be staged.

It is opposite, the former St Paul’s Church and near the National Buildings, also given a facelift as one of the VVP projects.

Jan Walsh, managing director of Cotyledon, said: ‘We hope that our fine network of foodies, crafters and creators will entice visitors and residents to try out the market and street food events.  It is such a lovely new, safe and versatile public space; perfect for a whole range of public events and activities.”

Brian Morrish, who has a stall in the historic Newport Market in High Street, is among those due to take part selling cheese and other dairy products.

Anyone else interested in taking a stall can contact Jan Walsh, of Cotyledon, on 01633 441442 or email [email protected]
