Cardiff’s APP UK appoints industry leading managing director

Cardiff-based cleaning company APP UK has appointed an industry-leading managing director to help drive its “progressive vision” forward.

The facilities and cleaning provider has welcomed Caroline Demoulpied, who has over 20 years’ experience at some of the most prestigious corporations across the UK.

During her London-based career, Caroline has held senior positions with some of the country’s most celebrated security and facilities management organisations, including Pinkerton, Empire Security Management, Equinox Security Management and TCFM.

Through each role she was instrumental in increasing engagement with clients along with business growth, and maximising commercial opportunities. Throughout her time working in London, Caroline chose not to relocate and instead commuted from her home in South Wales.

However, after the successful sale of Equinox to TCFM, she decided to return to her roots in Cardiff and utilise her significant business experience to help Welsh-based SMEs.

She began working with Business Wales, the Welsh Government’s business advisory service, to provide tendering and business advice. This was followed by a move to the third sector, which then led to her appointment with APP UK.

On her appointment Ms Demoulpied said:

“I am thrilled to have been given this fantastic opportunity at one of Wales’s most socially conscious organisations.

“APP UK has developed a reputation for being a business which really cares about the community while delivering an industry-leading service. My aim now is to continue building on this amazing work and driving further growth across the business.

“We have already won a number of new contract tender opportunities. I am also proud to say that we have retained a major contract in a recent re – tendering exercise which is testimony to the dedication and hard work of our teams and the partnership ethos of our business.”

The specialist commercialcleaning and maintenance services company is owned by GEL, a trading subsidiary of leading mental health charity Gofal.

GEL was set up in 2010 to develop and operate a portfolio of socially responsible businesses that invest surplus profits back into Gofal.

Managing Director at Gofal, Matthew Cole, hailed her appointment as a significant step for APP UK.

He said: “We would like to officially welcome Caroline to APP UK and GEL. Her wealth of experience absolutely speaks for itself and she brings so much industry knowledge to the business, which has already proven to be beneficial. We look forward to the continued development of APP UK under Caroline’s leadership and to the contribution that the business will make to our wider social objectives.”
