    After Hours returns to Techniquest for Christmas special

    After Hours returns to Cardiff Bay for the final time this year, with an unusual Christmas theme promising to end the 2019 parties on a high.

    For one night only, Techniquest will be turned in to a magical Christmas Lab — where you can get creative, get festive and get merry all in one place — without spending a fortune. These adult-only events mean a licensed bar, later opening hours for you to get your geek-on, and a completely unique Techniquest experience which you won’t find on any other visiting day.

    Sponsored by Admiral, After Hours runs three times per year at Techniquest; each with a different and imaginative theme. Previous events have included a sell-out eco-awareness night, a silent disco and even more recently, a spooky Creepy Carnival.

    Admiral have supported After Hours for several years, most recently signing a 3-year partnership with the science centre. This deal means that Techniquest are supported to deliver out-of-the-ordinary experiences and can continue to tailor events specifically for older audiences. It also means the events can now run more frequently, with 2020 promising a bumper number of events guaranteed to ‘wow’ crowds like never before.

    Last year Techniquest unveiled its plans for The Science Capital — a multi-million-pound project funded to extend the building, appeal to wider audiences and play its part in sharing the importance of STEM. As a charity organisation, the Science Capital project is the biggest change of its kind since Techniquest opened 33 years ago. Not only will Techniquest reveal its new look to the world in 2020, but Admiral’s sponsorship deal means After Hours will continue to grow and establish itself as one of the go-to adult events in Cardiff.

    Events Manager at Techniquest, Gareth McTiffin commented;

    “The Christmas Lab is our final After Hours event of the year, and what better way to finish off! Expect good music, tasty tipple, and even craft-making experiences as our science centre turns in to a Christmas Lab for one night only. We’re always really excited to show everyone what each After Hours event brings and can’t wait to welcome all our guests right before Christmas.”
