One of the UK’s leading independent insurance brokers, Towergate Insurance Brokers, has acquired the business of Clydach-based broker Tony Nakonecznyj Insurance Brokers, in a bid to boost its offering in the Swansea area.

Tony Nakonecznyj is an independent broker established in 1984, specialising in chapels, leisure parks and commercial business, as well as providing services to local clients within the Clydach area.

The business purchase will also see both of Tony Nakonecznyj’s long-serving employees Gill Langdon and Joanne Phillips transfer to Towergate Insurance Brokers in Swansea. Both have worked for the business for over 29 years and Tony will himself, be integrating with the Towergate team; taking up a consultant role, allowing for an even more seamless transition for clients.

Towergate Insurance Brokers, which has over 50 offices across the UK, has a strong Welsh presence, with offices in Swansea, Cardiff, Ammanford and Haverfordwest.

Gary Stevens, Area Managing Director for Towergate Insurance Brokers in Wales, said:

“We’re very pleased to have successfully completed this business acquisition and to be able to offer an expanded service for Tony Nakonecznyj’s clients.

“They share many of the same values as us in terms of providing great local service and really getting to know their clients, so we’re sure that their clients will feel very positive about the service they will be receiving.

“We are always looking to increase our offering within Wales, and encourage any third-party brokers interested in selling to get in touch.”

Tony Nakonecznyj, of Tony Nakonecznyj Insurance Brokers, said: “After 35 years in business, we are very pleased to be integrating with Towergate Insurance Brokers.

“We are confident that they share the same values as us in terms of how they treat their clients and the expert service they provide. I’m pleased to be joining the team as a consultant and delighted that both Gill and Joanne will also be making the move.

“We’re looking forward to hitting the ground running and ensuring our loyal clients receive the same level of service they have come to expect, along with the expanded service and insurance products that Towergate are able to provide.”
