he Rhug Estate’s Bison Grill Bistro is holding a Gin Night on Friday, 29 June, for lovers of Welsh gin to enjoy their favourite tipple whilst being able to dine in the Bistro during the evening.

Customers will be able to enjoy a choice of over 10 cocktails which incorporate gins from two Welsh companies, Aber Falls and Dà Mhìle. Aber Falls Gin is produced not far from the Rhug in Abergwyngregyn, Llanfairfechan. Aber Falls produce rhubarb and ginger; orange marmalade and a Dry, London style gin. Dà Mhìle organic gin, is produced at Glynhynod Farm, near Llandysul in Ceredigion. You can choose from Dà Mhìle’s Organic Botanical, Oak-Aged and Seaweed Gins.

In the run up to the event on 29 June the Rhug will be running a competition on its Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages with the prize being a free tour of the Aber Falls Gin Distillery for two people. The Aber Falls Visitor Centre opened earlier this month and offers visitors the chance to tour the distillery and see how Aber Falls’ award-winning range of gins and liqueurs are produced.

Lord Newborough, Owner of the Rhug Estate, said,

“We want our customers to enjoy an unique experience when they visit us at the Rhug Estate. Being a gin lover myself, I can highly recommend the gin cocktails that will be on offer during the Evening Dining Experience next month. The cocktails complement our new summer menu.”

The Bison Grill Bistro’s new summer menu has been produced by Head Chef, Elliot Knox, who has created dishes using seasonal ingredients to complement organic meat produced on the Rhug’s farm. On the menu are lighter summer salads, sandwiches and pastas using fresh organic ingredients from the farm or local suppliers. The menu also has regular hearty dishes such as the welsh rarebit, bison burger and the all-day breakfasts, which continue to feature on the menu.

Graham Webster, Manager of Rhug Estate’s Farm Shop and Bistro, said,

“We are always on the look out for new and exciting Welsh and organic products for our customers here at the Rhug Farm Shop and in the Bistro. For one night a month we open the Bistro during the evening so customers have the opportunity to take their time and enjoy an evening meal in the beautiful surroundings of the Bison Grill Bistro.”

    Graham added,

“For those customers driving, or not wanting gin, during the Gin Night non-alcoholic versions of the cocktails will be available.”

The Bison Grill Bistro at the Rhug Estate is open every day. The menus and the opening times are available on the website: www.rhug.co.uk. Booking is advisable for the Gin Night. To book your table please telephone: 01490 411100 or email: [email protected]
