Cardiff Bus is alerting customers to travel changes ahead of the arrival of the VOLVO Ocean Race.
This weekend marks the race’s historic first visit to Cardiff Bay, where it is stopping off for a two-week period from 27thMay to 10thJune.
The free sporting event, which sees a fleet of boats travelling 45,000 nautical miles around the world from Alicante, Spain, to The Hague, in the Netherlands, is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the city.
To enable people across the city to enjoy the festivities, Cardiff Bus is running extra Baycar journeys to Porth Teigr, later into the evening.
With the VOLVO Race Village, based across the barrage, serviced by the Baycar, which will stop close to the village entrance.
The additional journey will depart on the hour and every 30 minutes past the hour until 10pm on dates when the Race Village is open late, and Cardiff Bus is encouraging customers to view the full timetable over on its website: https://www.cardiffbus.com/volvo-ocean-race-baycar
Also, Cardiff Bus will be running a FREE special extra bus for ticket holders attending the No Fit State Lexicon show at the Volvo Race Village on the following dates: Saturday 26th May; Tuesday 29th May; Thursday 31st May; Tuesday 5th June; Wednesday 6th June and Thursday 7th June. The bus will depart the Barrage Walkway bus stop (formerly Dr Who) following the show at 10.15pm back to the city centre.
