One lucky Neath bingo player at Castle Bingo received an unexpected boost to her Boxing Day afternoon bingo, when she called ‘house’ on a life changing £50,000 Jackpot on the National Bingo Game.

L-R: Stephen Hamley-Locke (Club Manager), winners sister Barbara, Mrs Sue Harris (wife of CE) and Winner, Lilian Hale.

Lilian Hale, 72, was playing bingo on Boxing Day afternoon with her regular bingo buddy, sister Barbara, when all her numbers came up on the National Bingo Game!  Shouting ‘house’ Lilian thought she had won the club prize and both she and her sister were in shock when the caller announced that she had won a £50,000 Jackpot Prize, as well as the club prize.

Lilian and Barbara are regulars at Castle Bingo Neath, having joined in 2003. Lilian said:

“We were in shock when the Caller announced that I had won £50,000 and absolutely ecstatic at having won such an amazing amount. Our bingo is really important to us both, as it gives us the opportunity to spend time together and have a catch-up: we always split our winnings regardless of who wins what, and this is no different.”

“We are both still waiting for it all to sink in really and are not sure what we will do with our winnings: we love going to bingo and having a win, but never imagined a win of £50,000. Just goes to show if you give it a go it could change your life.”

Lilian was presented with her cheque today, Friday 3rdJanuary, at a special party thrown for all customers at Castle Bingo Neath to celebrate the big win.

Stephen Hamley-Locke, General Manager at Castle Bingo Neath, said:

“We are really excited to have had our first £50,000 National Bingo Game win here at Castle Bingo Neath, which was hopefully the first of many to come. We are especially happy that the Jackpot has been won by regular member Lilian, who is sharing her good luck with her       bingo buddy and sister, Barbara. The win was a great opportunity for us to throw a party to celebrate with all our valued customers and to present Lilian with her £50,000 cheque.”

Alastair Stewart, Business Development Manager at the National Bingo Game said: “We are thrilled for our lucky National Bingo Game £50,000 Jackpot winner at Castle Neath and this comes only four days after another £50,000 Jackpot was won at Castle Bingo, in Newport Road, Cardiff: we hope that Lilian and Barbara enjoy the winnings. It just goes to show that you can win big at bingo.”
