Towergate Insurance Brokers has welcomed two key appointments to its Swansea branch as it start the new year in a strong position.

Neil Williams will join the team as a Commercial Account Handler specialising in contractor and fleet insurance. Having most recently worked as a Commercial Account Handler at Marsh Commercial, formerly known as Jelf. Neil spends his time out of the office enjoying cycling, the cinema, listening to music and supporting Swansea City Football Club. Neil has also previously cycled from Paris to Swansea over four days, raising £3,000 for Welsh charity, Ty Hafan.

Dean Barker joins Towergate Insurance Brokers as a Development Executive, also from Marsh Commercial, having spent nine years with the company. Dean specialises in insurance for the construction, manufacturing, wholesale and retail industries as well as boasting experience in all aspects of commercial insurance.

Greg Johns, Sales Director, Towergate Insurance Brokers, said: “It’s great to be welcoming Neil and Dean to the Swansea team. They bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience which I have no doubt will see them excel in their new roles.

“These appointments mean that we now have a team of nine Sales Executives within the Swansea office, and will really allow us to further expand our client base across South Wales.”

Dean said: “I am delighted to be joining Towergate Insurance Brokers at this exciting time of growth. As a community-based broker with national reach, Towergate has been investing heavily in the local community, creating new jobs and expanding their local claims team. I feel there is a very strong cultural fit for me at Towergate and I am looking forward to helping businesses across South and West Wales access specialist insurance advice, service and claims support.”

Neil said: “I’m really looking forward to joining the Swansea team. After a short discussion with Gary Stevens, Area Managing Director Wales at Towergate Insurance Brokers, it was clear to me that it was where I wanted to continue my career. Towergate not only continue to be local, but they have the size and strength to be able to negotiate the best deals for their customers and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead.”
