Welsh aluminium fabricator, Dudley’s Aluminium, has begun work on a new project with Willmott Dixon Construction Ltd to construct the new Village Urban Resort Hotel in Bristol.

The new hotel, which will be located in the North of Bristol and is one of three new hotels from the chain, will be a business class hotel with a business and events hub as well as a state-of-the-art health and fitness club.

Dudley’s secured the contract with Willmott Dixon, in excess of half a million pounds, and will install high quality Kawneer capped curtain walling, windows, doors and patio doors throughout the hotel’s bedrooms, as well as automatic doors at the entrances. It is the second VUR Hotel that Dudleys has undertaken with the Willmott Dixon team, following on from the successful completion of the new VUR Hotel in Portsmouth.

The hotel is predicted to create more than 100 new jobs in the area and will act as a catalyst for the wider Horizon 38 scheme – a mixed use development with premises totalling over one million square feet. The estimated date of completion for the hotel is July 2018.

Speaking about the new project, Colin Shorney, Managing Director of Dudley’s said: “We are thrilled to have secured the contract for the Village Urban Resort Hotel and to be working with Willmott Dixon again.

“The Village Urban Resort Hotel is a great development that will provide many opportunities for the North Bristol area and we are really pleased to have the chance to support its construction.”

The Village Urban Resort hotel is Dudley’s second project in Bristol with Willmott Dixon Construction Ltd this year. The two are currently working on 95,000 sq ft grade A offices at Bristol’s Finzel Reach site – a contract that was worth in excess of £1.25million – which is due for completion in 2018.

Dudley’s reputation for quality has been recognised with several industry-related accreditations. The company is CHAS and Achilles accredited, Constructionline registered and certified to manufacture “Secured by Design” products.

Established in 1993, Dudley’s Aluminium offers clients full in-house design and production facilities, and has completed many successful and prestigious education, health, commercial, retail and defence sector projects throughout the UK and Channel Islands.
