On Sunday 29th March, dogs and their humans from across south east Wales will come together and take a walk for Cardiff’s local hospice.
City Hospice will be welcoming pooches to take part in Wag this Way, a 5km walk around the beautiful, Bute Park in Cardiff. The event will be followed by a Dog Show, hosted by Dog Furiendly in aid of City Hospice.
All dogs who are taking part in the charity walk will have the opportunity to compete in categories such as Fabulous Fella, Loveliest Lady, Precious Puppy, Best Rescue, Golden Oldie and more. The Dog Show starts at 1.30pm and is a great opportunity to enjoy the excitement of the day, and celebrate our four-legged friends.

“Out of all the cities we work in across the UK, Cardiff holds a very special place in our hearts. This beautiful city, filled with plenty of wagging tails, inspired us to create Dog Furiendly so that more dog owners could find places to visit and events like Wag This Way.
“This year we’ll be hosting a show stopping dog show, complete with rosettes and prizes from Burns Pet Food.
“Wag This Way is plenty of fun for all the family to enjoy, all whilst raising funds for such an important cause. We’re raising money to support the hard working staff who provide essential care for those who need it the most.
“If we can get 100 dogs involved with the Dog Show, this will pay for a day of essential nursing care for someone in Cardiff with a terminal illness.”
Last year’s Wag this Way saw 200 people take part with over 100 dogs from across south Wales. Liz Andrews, CEO of City Hospice said:
“Wag this Way is a great opportunity to come out and support hospice care in Cardiff. To fund a day of nursing care costs £150, but that day could mean the world to families in need of our care. We are extremely grateful to our supporters and the businesses who allow this event to be such a success.
“We’re encouraging Dogs from across South Wales to come out in support of City Hospice, and take part in the charity dog walk, and the Dog Show that will follow. Last year’s event was great fun; we can’t wait for Wag this Way 2020.”
Wag this Way 2020 will be hosted by local DJ’s Wyburn and Wayne, and also feature a special doggy warmup with the team from the Village Gym.
