It has been announced today that Coleg Gwent has successfully achieved prestigious Gold status in the Cyber-First School/College scheme.
The award comes after many months of hard work with key industry partners – Thales, Fujitsu and Admiral – and following on from the exciting launch of a co-designed industry led Cyber Security Qualification.
In a world where Cyber Security is a fast-growing industry, Coleg Gwent is proud to be a college that’s showing true leadership in Cyber Security education and outreach by equipping learners with the skills they need for the jobs of the future.
Investing in a brand new, state-of-the-art Cyber Security Computer Lab, Coleg Gwent offers learners a fantastic environment to develop and nurture their skills through their Cyber Security programme launched earlier this year.

We’ve made it our mission to supply the training and the workforce to help those industries succeed on the international stage.”
It is a privilege to be presented with the Gold Award status as a Cyber-First College, which gives Coleg Gwent National Cyber Security Centre Industry recognition, as well as access to local and national opportunities for learners to engage with industry and local universities to gain specialist knowledge, skills and experience.

The relationship with our industry partners, the University of South Wales and our feeder schools has been invaluable in achieving the award and designing the Cyber College Cymru provision that will meet employer demands.”
Coleg Gwent now looks forward to welcoming a new cohort of learners through their doors to study Cyber Security this year, and developing the awareness of Cyber Security for all full-time learners through the Cyber-First Colleges brand.
