Seventy three students from Stagecoach Performing Arts schools across the UK, Australia, Germany, Lithuania and Malta graced the iconic G Live theatre in Guildford to deliver an outstanding performance of much-loved, ‘Bring It On: The Musical’, based on the hit Bring It On movie, including students from Stagecoach Swansea. A Newtown based volunteer, Ruth Hockly, is taking a step back from volunteering this year, after 59 years of serving her local community. Ruth, who volunteers with St John Ambulance Cymru’s Bettws Cedewain Division, has held several roles within the organisation since joining in 1965. Everyone at the charity, especially Ruth’s fellow volunteers in Powys, is extending their deepest gratitude to Ruth for all she has done for the charity and her local community during this time. A courageous schoolboy has climbed Pen y Fan with a medic who helped save his life! Eleven-year-old Ioan Watts’ life was saved in October 2022, after he suffered a severe traumatic brain injury following an 8ft fall outside his house, which resulted in him landing on his head. Due to the nature of his injuries, the Wales Air Ambulance dispatched two critical care teams – one by air and one by road.
