The Women in Wales annual charity Lunch is taking place at the Mercure Holland House Hotel, Cardiff on Friday 26 April. Following the 2023 lunch which was attended by over 300 guests, the Women in Wales committee donated £30,000 to five projects – Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice, Sandy Bear Bereavement charity, Pembrokeshire & Carmarthenshire Riding for the Disabled, Dreams & Wishes charity and Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society Food Story. Parkinson’s UK Cymru’s Cardiff branch has issued an urgent appeal for volunteers. The branch, which meets across Cardiff in various locations and has been running for 50 years, is looking for a Branch Secretary and committee volunteers to keep the group operating. Without more volunteer support, the branch could see a sharp reduction in the activities it offers local people with Parkinson’s..
