THE Welsh Ambulance Service has introduced 48 state-of-the-art emergency ambulances to its fleet. Fitted with the latest technology, the ambulances have been added as part of the Trust’s commitment to modernising its fleet, ensuring that each of its operational vehicles are fit-for-purpose, reliable and provide a safe environment for staff and patients. Busnes@LlandrilloMenai is the first training provider to deliver the new dental nurse apprenticeship which was developed collaboratively with Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, Bangor University and awarding body Agored Cymru, both of whom are specialists in the delivery of Level 3 Apprenticeship qualifications in Wales. As the lambing season begins, a Welsh farmer – who developed a life-threatening infection – is urging his fellow farmers to be aware of the dangers posed to human and animal health by antibiotic resistance. A seemingly simple cut resulted in Corwen beef and sheep farmer Arwel Evans developing an infection, which put his life in danger as doctors battled to find an effective antibiotic. An RSPCA campaign has made a huge splash in Wales as the giving of pets as prizes is to be banned from council land across all 22 local authorities. Twenty-one councils across Wales have banned the outdated practice, with Powys County Council remaining as the last council to rubber stamp a ban. A post-doctoral researcher in psychology is calling for better education on misunderstood mental health conditions — following the results of a research project with Wales’s national, health research registry, Healthwise Wales. The take up of industrial property over 50,000 sq ft in Wales reached 1.87 million sq ft in 2023, up slightly on the 1.8 million sq ft in 2022, according to research from Knight Frank. The global property consultancy reported that five deals totalling 416,000 sq ft were transacted in Wales in Quarter 4 (Q4), compared with 103,000 sq ft in the final quarter of last year. The regeneration of Atlantic Wharf took another step forward today, with a new report providing an update on the proposal to redevelop The Red Dragon Centre site which – along with the new indoor arena – is a key project to stimulate the next-phase regeneration of Cardiff Bay.
