It is hoped that the pop-up stalls will showcase local produce, generate additional footfall and make a positive contribution to the vibrancy of the market. Trumpeter Carys Wood from Haverfordwest High VC School was the overall winner at this year’s Secondary Schools Valero Music Festival. The annual festival, which is organised by the Pembrokeshire County Council Music Service and sponsored by Valero, took place at Ysgol Caer Elen on Saturday (November 18th). More than 240 young musicians from each of the County’s eight county secondary schools, Pembrokeshire College and further afield took part in individual and ensemble competitions throughout the day. Christopher El Gifari, 32, admitted the manslaughter of Mark Lang and the theft of his delivery van, but was today found guilty of murder and robbery at Cardiff Crown Court. At 12.49pm on March 28, emergency services were called to a report of a single-vehicle collision on North Road in Cathays, Cardiff. Following enquiries, it transpired that the vehicle involved was a delivery van which has been stolen from Laytonia Avenue by Christoper El Gifari. Children and young people in Wales who rely on technology to communicate now have access to young Welsh-accented voices and Welsh language versions, the Deputy Minister for Social Services, Julie Morgan, has announced. Children and young people in Wales have until now only been able to choose between High Tech Communication Aids with English and Scottish accents, and adult version Welsh language voices. But Welsh Government funding will give children and young people a voice that represents their Welsh identity and sounds more like other children their age. South Wales Police and Bridgend County Borough Council are urging residents to remain alert and to report any suspicious behaviour they may witness when visiting local cemeteries. It follows a series of thefts in which sexton’s huts and maintenance outbuildings at five council-maintained cemeteries have been broken into. The thieves, who appear to be targeting metal items, have vandalised and damaged the cemeteries while attempting to gain access before removing pipes, taps and more. The 2024 JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigion has been confirmed as a round of the 2024 FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) in a move that will see this major international competition return to Wales for the first time in 28 years.
