Thanks to a new initiative by an Anglesey-based social enterprise, five community Electric Vehicle (EV) fast charging points have been installed across the island.  Menter Môn, in partnership with Medrwn Môn and the Isle of Anglesey County Council have installed the points at community hubs as part of the Zap Môn project. With the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans to be banned from 2030, the roll-out of fast chargers aims to give residents the option of going electric early. Wales Air Ambulance provides a vital service across the country, with four emergency helicopters delivering expert time-critical care to patients wherever they may be. Four Welsh vineyards have joined in a collaborative project to look at ways of delivering innovative solutions to decarbonisation and improving the efficiency of Welsh Vineyards through reducing the use of synthetic chemicals. Supported by the Welsh Government’s Decarbonisation and Covid Challenge Fund, the project’s objective was to increase knowledge and understanding of disease control and prevention methods in vineyards across Wales. The project’s outputs will help to reduce future use of, and reliance on, synthetic chemicals.
