The Football Association of Wales has announced the launch of the PAWB Fund for its second year. The FAW PAWB Fund supports young people and families across Wales to access football opportunities and equipment. The PAWB Fund aligns to the FAW’s Our Wales|Ein Cymru 2026 Strategy key objective; to provide a flexible and inclusive playing offer and make football accessible and affordable for people from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Members of school leaders’ union NAHT Cymru are to be consulted electronically on the latest offer on pay, workload and funding from Welsh Government. Following a members-only online meeting this evening, an electronic ballot will be sent out for all eligible members to vote on whether to accept the offer. Neath Port Talbot Council is due to start work on a natural flood management scheme amongst trees planted by Coed Cadw (Woodland Trust) at Brynau Farm next to Gnoll Country Park. Pembrokeshire County Council’s Cabinet has backed positive steps towards rebuilding Manorbier Church in Wales VC School after a fire severely damaged the school last year. The Cabinet met on Monday and backed £25,000 for a study to determine approximate costs for rebuilding the school and, subject to the appropriate processes, invite and evaluate a tender to design and rebuild the damaged areas of the school. The Cabinet was told that a full reinstatement of the school was the preferred option. Work to widen the pavement at the end of the High Street in Presteigne will begin during the week beginning the 20 March 2023. Measures put in place to help facilitate social distancing measures during the Covid19 pandemic will be adopted permanently along the cobbled end of Presteigne High Street, near the library, later this month. Health Minister Eluned Morgan has today announced increased funding to widen access to Wales’ long-Covid services, including for people experiencing other long-term conditions. Annual funding will increase to £8.3 million for Adferiad (Recovery) services. The community based rehabilitation services will continue to and support people with long COVID but they will also be expanded to people with other long term conditions whose rehabilitation and recovery are similar- for example, people with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), fibromyalgia and other post-viral associated conditions. South Wales Police can confirm that a body has been recovered from the scene of an explosion which happened at Clydach Road in Morriston at 11.20am this morning. A search of the scene discovered the body of a man who was previously unaccounted for. His family has been informed. An investigation will now get underway to establish the cause of the incident. The Health and Safety Executive has been informed. Two properties were extensively damaged and other neighbouring properties were also damaged in an explosion that took place on Monday morning..
