The Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Well-being has announced an additional £3.3m to support the implementation of the Strategic Mental Health Workforce plan in 2023-24. The additional funding will take the annual investment by Welsh Government to implement the Plan to £6m in 2023-24. The Strategic Mental Health Workforce Plan was developed by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) and Social Care Wales following extensive engagement, including with users of mental health services. Bellway Wales has donated nearly £3,000 to Cancer Research UK, after auctioning off showhome furniture to its staff. The Bellway division, which is based in Cardiff, raised a total of £2,977.65 after selling off a range of furniture from showhomes across sites in South Wales and Gloucestershire. The items that were offered up in the sale included sofas, dining tables, chests of drawers, a coffee table, bar stools, a tall boy, a clothes rail, a desk, dressing tables and a TV unit. Atradius, one of the UK’s largest trade credit insurers, will give almost all staff a £2,000 payment to support them through the cost of living crisis. This follows a £1,600 payment which was given to employees in October last year. The insurer, based in Cardiff, employs 426 people across the UK and Ireland, will give the payment to almost all employees on the payroll including graduates, interns, and those on temporary contracts.
