His Royal Highness Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales, visited a state-of-the-art palliative care unit near Llantrisant to meet NHS staff, patients and their loved ones  as part of his summer tour of Wales. His Royal Highness visited the Y Bwthyn NGS Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care Unit at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Ynysmaerdy, during the afternoon of Wednesday 7 July. Rob Lloyd (57) from Rhos-On-Sea continues his 12-month ‘Senseless’ Challenge series for charity having completed The National Three Peaks challenge, which involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales in the space of 24 hours. Award-winning distillers Andy and Rhys Mallows are to open a new £5M state-of-the-art distillery in South Wales. The father-and-son duo, who co-own Mallows Bottling, are also set to launch the first-ever Welsh bourbon whiskey alongside a range of premium artisan spirits. The purpose-built 30,000 square foot distillery will undertake contract bottling for global brands as well as manufacturing Mallows’ own branded spirits. A motorcycle-mad care home resident is gearing up for a new challenge to lovingly restore an old bike. John Wykes, 83, who now lives at Pendine Park’s Hillbury home in Wrexham, has a life-long passion for motorbikes and classic cars and has returned numerous ‘wrecks’ to their former glory.
