This will bring Caws Cenarth’s handcrafted, small-batch cheeses to even more customers, giving Welsh residents the best taste of traditional Welsh cheesemaking. A FAST-GROWING cosmetic dental treatment that has seen patients travelling to major cities is now available in North Wales, with one of the region’s first dedicated composite bonding clinics launching in Colwyn Bay. The Valley Hotel is a 19-bedroom hotel and event venue which dates back to the 1800s. The Development Bank of Wales is part-funding a third renewable energy project for community-owned energy developer YnNi Teg with a loan of £412,000 for the Penrhiw Fach Wind Turbine near Aberaeron, Ceredigion. Set to start producing clean energy in 2026, the 900KW Penrhiw Wind Turbine will generate enough power for 750 homes each year and reduce CO₂ emissions by 9,750 tonnes over its 25 year lifespan. The family of the 22-year-old man who died in a road traffic collision on the A487 near Cardigan on the 17 of January, have paid tribute to him. The family said: “Alfie was bright, happy, hilarious, adventurous, ambitious, kind and a gentle giant. South Wales Police is appealing for information about the unsolved murder of taxi driver John ‘Jack’ Armstrong more than 40 years ago. Mr Armstrong was found murdered near Bridgend in October 1979 after he collected a customer from Cardiff in his taxi. His death has been regularly reviewed by the South Wales Police Specialist Crime Review Unit and detectives are currently investigating his death. Officers made over 200 drink and drug drive arrests in December as part of Operation Limit, our annual Christmas anti drink and drug driving campaign. From 1 December 2025 to 1 January 2026, North Wales Police supported the national policing operation, which is aimed at reducing fatal and serious road traffic collisions and protecting road users, by carrying out targeted activity to stop drivers who are driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs. Proposals including new cafes, bars and beach sports shops at Swansea’s Civic Centre site are being shared for feedback at a public exhibition later this month.
