Detectives in Cardiff investigating a sexual assault which happened in the early hours of Thursday 15th July in Bute Park have charged a man. Tyler Higgins, 19, from Cathays in Cardiff has been remanded in custody.  He will appear before Cardiff Magistrates Court on Monday (19th July) charged with two counts of rape. Teenager Celyn Jones has completed her dream foundation apprenticeship working with animals and birds as she builds towards her ambition of becoming a specialist veterinary nurse. The increasing number of care workers self-isolating is potentially more of a danger to vulnerable people in Wales than the Covid-19 virus, a social care leader has warned. Not seeing friends and families, impact on emotional health, loneliness, and worries over physical health were the main concerns of more than 1200 older people who responded to a national survey on their experiences of the winter lockdown. The survey, undertaken by Age Cymru and a number of national older people’s organisations during March and April 2021, found that for 87% of the respondents, not seeing family and friends was their biggest challenge followed by the impact on emotional health (51%), loneliness (37%) and physical health (35%).
