A FATHER-of-two who had a cardiac arrest while on holiday in North Wales has been reunited with his lifesavers. Dominic Miller, 49, of Hale, Cheshire, was enjoying a family break at Warren Holiday Park in Abersoch in June of last year when he collapsed in the park’s leisure centre. Quick-thinking staff dialled 999 and began CPR before a volunteer Community First Responder arrived and delivered shocks to Mr Miller with a defibrillator. Paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service stabilised him and took him to hospital, where he later underwent life-saving heart surgery. Mr Miller, a company director at a healthcare…
St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Swansea has received a £1,000 donation from the local Amazon fulfilment centre. The Amazon team made a visit to the school to meet the staff and pupils. During the visit, the school outlined its plans for the money refurbishment of the school toilets. South Wales Police launch campaign to target those who drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs during Winter. The Winter drink drug drive campaign launching on social media on Wednesday 11thDecember shows footage of real incidents with key words to tell the journey of the impact drink or drug driving had. Last year saw over 3,500 drink drive tests administered across South Wales resulting in 179 arrests, and 141 drug wipes with 65 arrests. A new study from Cardiff-based finance specialists, Pure Commercial Finance, has revealed that the cost to refurbish the Houses of Parliament at £4bn, could instead house 37% of the UK if the money was matched and spent on the housing deficit instead. The housing deficit could be improved or solved in many towns and cities in Wales. This includes being able to house 26% of Cardiff’s homeless, 39% of Newport, 40% of Swansea, 199% of Hereford, 206% of Bridgend and Cwmbran by 250%. Monmouthshire Housing Association (MHA) have been spreading festive cheer around Monmouthshire by delivering Christmas hampers, supporting local food banks and giving presents to numerous families in need. Using their volunteer days MHA staff packed up and delivered 89 hampers; with one recipient saying “it meant the world”. Staff have also been supporting the Toy Appeal organised by local charity Dads Can Cymru, buying presents for 59 households across the county, including 100 children and 37 adults, who may not otherwise receive a gift this Christmas. Aluminium manufacturing and installation company AB Glass has started work ona contract in the former Guardian Exchange building in Bristol for Kier Construction. The three-acre site, now known as Glassfields, refers to its former use as the original glassworks site of the ‘Bristol Blue’ manufacturing company.
