The Growth Guarantee Scheme is designed to support access to finance for UK smaller businesses as they look to invest and grow and is expected to support around 11,000 smaller businesses between 1 July 2024 and 31 March 2026. Local housebuilder, Barratt Homes South Wales, has today (08 July) announced its plans to bring 70 energy efficient new-build homes and over 300 jobs to Cwmbran — with new development, Holly View. An eight-week public consultation on plans to protect 11 parks in Cardiff and ensure they remain publicly accessible green spaces, has been launched. A4061 Rhigos Mountain Road will close from July 22, until the end of October 2024, to safely rectify hillside damage previously caused by a major fire. The closure is essential due to the complex nature of working on large areas of rockface, the use of heavy machinery and specialist access equipment to reach the full height of the rockface, and the possible risk of debris falling onto the road. Cwtch Mawr is Wales’ first multibank, which helps struggling families in Swansea. The multibank sees businesses donating surplus items so they can be given for free to people who cannot afford them. This includes cleaning products, household items, toiletries and furnishings. In the first two months since its launch, Cwtch Mawr supported more than 15,000 people, as well as hosting community events, cooking courses, drop-in events and celebrations like International Women’s Day.
