A new state-of-the-art multi-use sports pitch has now been officially opened at Brynteg School for the benefit of both pupils and the wider community. The all-weather facility has been jointly funded by Bridgend County Borough Council, Welsh Government’s Community Focused Schools Capital Grant and a donation to the school from the Harry Gwynne Memorial Trust. Council tenants across Swansea are set to benefit from upgrades to their homes thanks to investment of more than £55m in the coming year. High-rise homes in Dyfatty will see almost £40m invested in a five-year programme that’ll see tenants’ flats and buildings improved inside and out, including new kitchens, bathrooms, fire and safety upgrades and improved energy-saving insulation. After months of negotiations with transport companies Neath Port Talbot Council has been able to award 42 local bus service contracts, even managing to reinstate a number of vital services which had been cut or severely reduced. In total, the council has awarded much needed bus service contracts worth £3,086,883 per year with this being achieved despite a drop in Welsh Government funding. Carlos Indjai has bene jailed for possession with intent to supply cocaine. Indjai 30 from Pentwyn was spotted acting suspiciously by officers driving through Roath, Cardiff, when soon afterwards he stopped to meet someone by the Church on St Andrews Crescent in the city centre, in what looked like a drug deal. Officers followed him to Sainsburys on Colchester Avenue where he stopped for petrol. He was detained and searches found three deals of cocaine and incriminating messages on his phone. Rail customers can now take advantage of cheaper ‘Pay As You Go’ fares thanks to the launch of a new contactless tap in, tap out payment service on key routes across South East Wales. Making it faster, easier and cheaper to travel, Transport for Wales (TfW) has launched the pilot on journeys between Cardiff Central, Newport and Pontyclun. Caerphilly County Borough Council began the service in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, the ‘Caerphilly Cares’ service has continued to evolve and develop, providing support to those who need it.
