Accessing epilepsy care in Wales has become a postcode lottery due to ongoing inconsistencies in the way neurology services are rolled out. Amid ‘woefully short’ nationwide staffing levels, some rural areas have little to no dedicated provision in place at all. An Aberystwyth University project which provides free legal advice and signposting to UK military veterans and their families, has teamed up with a local GP practice to offer support. Based in the University’s Department of Law & Criminology, the Veterans Legal Link project is working with Aberystwyth-based Ystwyth Medical Group as part of a Wales-wide initiative to provide veteran-friendly services to patients who formerly served in the UK military. Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK is backing the Royal Welch Fusiliers (RWF) Museum, which portrays the story of more than 300 years of service by its members through learning, research, and exhibitions. AS National Apprenticeship Week (February 5-11) gets underway, a trio of North Wales trainees are offering their advice to those considering a construction career. All three are embarking on very different careers at Flintshire-based Anwyl Homes and are at various stages of their personal development. An established, Newport-based design company is celebrating 10 years in business with a move to its recently renovated offices in the city centre. Parade Design, which was launched by graphic designer Claire Broome, is a creative ideas company specialising in brand identity, print and digital communication. Previously located in the Estates Offices on Gold Tops, the design firm has now moved into its own premises on North Street in Newport, following a lengthy redevelopment process.
