Employees at Cardiff Bus have successfully raised a grand total of £4,150 for Wales Air Ambulance.

Wales Air Ambulance are the only air ambulance charity based in and dedicated to the people of Wales and rely entirely on charitable donations.

The bus company dedicated a year of support for the lifesaving charity and hosted a number of fundraising events during the 12 months which included dress down days, raffles, collection tubs onsite, and a depot open day.

The generous donation from Cardiff Bus will help the Charity to deliver lifesaving, advanced medical care to people across Wales, whenever and wherever they need it.

Jen Doody, Human Resources Director at Cardiff Bus, said: “We are so proud of the efforts our team has put in over the last year to raise vital funds for such a deserving charity.

“The work done by Wales Air Ambulance is incredible, and we all know someone who has benefitted from their lifesaving work, so it felt right that we chose them as our Charity of the Year.

“We’d like to thank our staff for all their hard work fundraising, and to everyone who donated. We would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Wales Air Ambulance for their service to the people of Wales.”

Wales Air Ambulance needs to raise more than £8 million every year to keep its helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.

Laura Coyne, Wales Air Ambulance Community Fundraiser said: “Thank you to Cardiff Bus for choosing our lifesaving charity as its Charity of the Year and for raising more than £4,000 by holding various fundraising events throughout the year.

“Your tremendous donation will help us to continue to be there for the people of Wales when they need us most, whether that is by air or by road. Your support is much appreciated.”
