CCTV shows man who wielded two knives at early morning shop robbery

Chris Jenkins has been sentenced to five years and three months’ imprisonment following an armed robbery in Llanishen.
At 6am on 19 June, Jenkins, 35, entered the local shop on Station Road, Llanishen armed with two knives and cornered the 41-year-old female victim behind the till.
He demanded money from the tills but the distressed victim unable to open them. He then demanded she empty her pockets, which she revealed had nothing in them.
A member of the public witnessed a man acting suspiciously behind his home, just after the incident had taken place. He appeared to be changing his clothes and hiding the clothes he was previously wearing. This man was wearing clothes which matched the description earlier in the shop.
This report led to the subsequent arrest of Jenkins. Officers then searched the property where Jenkins was arrested and recovered two knives, matching the description of the knives used in the robbery.

Detective Constable Molly Thomas commented: 
“We are proud to have achieved the conviction of Jenkins for the victim who faced a traumatic ordeal at knife point while going about her daily job.
“Her courage to report this to the police and support our investigation needs to be recognised.”
Jenkins pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of a bladed article.
