Day’s of Neath is the first Welsh retailer for the upcoming Ineos Grenadier models.

The first 24 dealers UK wide have been appointed but the disruptive newcomer is planning another 10 around the country with the first getting models within two months, ready for the September plate change and autumn/ winter selling period. Prices and specifications will be released very soon.

The Grenadier was conceived after it was announced that Land Rover would be ending sales of its Defender series – it has since introdued a new model – and there had been conerns about the rural community being neglected for a basic off-roader with immense ability.

Ineos was set up and brought together the best UK and European designers and engineers to create a tough 4×4 which was initially scheduled to be built on a greenfield site next to the Ford engine plant at Waterton, Bridgend.

But despite preparity work on the assembly site, in July 2020 Ineos moved and took over a Mercedes car assembly plant in France which will produce the Grenadier, and the company had to reimburse Welsh Government millions of pounds for their frustrated development at Waterton, which is now lying unused.

Grenadier development has been undertaken by a highly experienced specialist Austrian company and prototypes have undergone millions of miles of testing arouind the world in all temperatures to verify integrity.
