Franco Manca, the sourdough pizza specialist, is celebrating 15 years since it opened the doors to its first restaurant in London’s Brixton Market in 2008, by launching an extra special, limited edition No.15 pizza.

The restaurant brand, that now operates 70 sites across the UK, will be adding the No.15 pizza to its menu on Tuesday 15th August, to round off a summer of birthday festivities and to coincide with the Italian holiday Ferragosto.

Created by Franco Manca co-founder Giuseppe Mascoli, the No.15 pays homage to the brand’s traditional Neapolitan roots and its philosophy of using simple, high-quality ingredients. The limited edition pizza is bursting with fresh, summery flavours and will be topped with Galician sardines, organic tomato, wilted spinach, fresh chillies, roasted garlic with herbs, Kalamata black olives, capers from Salina, breadcrumbs and lemon. It will feature in restaurants across the UK for two weeks, giving diners plenty of time to try it for themselves at their local pizzeria.

Since 2008, Franco Manca’s mission has been to delight and educate guests on the wonders of slow-rising sourdough combined with small supplier, seasonal ingredients. Fifteen years later, with millions of happy customers and restaurants covering the length and width of the UK, it is clear that the mission has been a huge success, as the brand continues to go from strength to strength.

Nabil Mankarious, Managing Director of Franco Manca, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating our 15th birthday and we could not be prouder of how far we have come since the early days in Brixton Market. We’ve stayed true to our values of simplicity and quality, while expanding at an impressive rate and enabling customers up and down the country to experience the joy of our sourdough pizza. The limited edition No.15 pizza is the perfect way to celebrate this milestone, and it was only right that our co-founder Giuseppe Mascoli was the one to create this beautiful masterpiece. We cannot wait for you all to come and try it for yourselves!”
