New York is a tremendously popular tourist destination for a reason. There are an endless number of things to do, landmarks to see, and shows to attend. To help you make the most of what is likely a limited time in New York we have comprised a list of some of the top attractions that will definitely make it a trip to remember.

    Yankee Stadium

If visiting during the spring or summer, then a day spent at a New York City ballpark is a classic activity that will provide you with a quintessentially American experience. And if baseball is your thing, then you do not get much better than the Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, the home field of New York’s 27-time World Champions. Check out hellotickets to see how you can buy tickets for a classic New York baseball game.

    Broadway

Another classic New York activity is going to see a Broadway show. Whether you are a tourist or a local, seeing a show is a special and uniquely New York experience. You may have seen a show or two in London or at a local theatre, but nothing compares to the costumes, sets, songs, and stories of Broadway – it is the stuff that dreams are made of. If you can get into a show while you are in New York, then you should 100% snap up this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

    Coney Island

Coney Island has a bit of a reputation for being a cheesy, circus-type tourist trap. Whilst this reputation is not completely undeserved, there are plenty of aspects one can appreciate at Coney Island. Experience the old-timey charm of this beachfront American town and indulge in its wide variety of different food and drinks. Do it, even if it is just so you can say you have been to Coney Island!

    American Museum of Natural History

New York has plenty of museums to choose from but its natural history museum is truly one of the world’s greatest. All aspects of the natural world are represented here including an amazing life-size model of a blue whale. They usually have two special exhibits on at a time, such as an exploration into the world of mummies with real-life examples, or, an in-depth immersive exhibit dealing with human senses and perception.

    Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)

If you are struggling to decide what museums to visit then you should seriously consider New York’s Museum of Modern Art. This art museum is a one-stop shop for art lovers as it displays works from iconic artists such as Van Gogh, Matisse, Rothko, Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dali, Monet, and Picasso. There is a reason this location attracts more than a million visitors every year.

    9/11 Memorial and Museum

Whilst this is not something that could be considered a fun attraction, you must visit the 9/11 memorial and museum if you are in New York. The museum itself is masterfully constructed to help evoke powerful emotions in its visitors and places you in a meditative mindset, forced to contemplate one of the greatest horrors of the 21st Century.
