Many modern people more often choose to live in a house than in an apartment. It is convenient, comfortable and gives you constant access to nature. But how to decorate a garden if you have a small area or do not have enough space or opportunity to put up a pool, statues or swing? The best solution is outdoor flowers in beautiful pots. Choosing potting planters for gardeners is a real pleasure because the modern market offers a large selection of different colors, shapes and sizes.

    Benefits of growing flowers outdoors

Plants of any kind will make your yard and garden cozier and fresher. Add some bright colors and you can enjoy this beauty at home. If you have a small area, then grow plants along the sidewalk near the house. There are many containers that can be placed along walls or hung from ropes. Any flowers are an additional item for comfort and good mood. Study the list of plants that might be grown outdoors and it will be easier for you to care for them. This is not frequent watering and you do not need to watch out for the sun which is necessary for their health.

    What plants to choose?

Most often, people choose unpretentious colors that give large buds and do not require careful maintenance. You can choose petunia (more moody) or fuchsia (for hanging pots). Also a good choice would be Pelargonium, which is particularly picky and can be grown in flowerpots on the street.

If you want variety and your outdoor area allows you to put several pots, then there are other amazing flowers:

    • Dwarf dahlias.
    • Begonias.
    • Snapdragon.
    • Chlorophytum.
    • Coleus.
    • Daisies.
    • Fern.

Choose other flowers from seasonal options. These can be tulips or daffodils that require maintenance. After the flowering season, planters with bulbs must be removed to a cool room. There are also many small container types to grow spicier herbs. If you like aromatic teas, then take lemon balm or thyme seeds. For lovers of spicy dishes, basil or rosemary will be a good solution.

    Features of growing outdoor plants

To keep your plants and flowers healthy and beautiful, you need to know a few points. It is not only the search for an unusual and stylish design for the pot, but also the selection of a suitable substrate, soil, drainage system and so on. Consider these items so that the plant is safe at any level of humidity, lighting and temperature extremes.

    • First, choose a suitable pot or box for your window. You can choose separate types of planters to plant larger plants or find small containers for small flowers. Also, some types of plants can live comfortably in the ground if you find a suitable place in your garden.
    • Your plant needs nutrients that it can take from the soil. But if you are growing it in a pot then think about the growing medium. This is a special additive that will also be an excellent baking powder so that the roots of the plant can “breathe”. A simple type of substrate retains moisture in the potting soil and can damage the roots, but use a diluted point.
    • The drainage system can consist of a simple hole in the bottom of the planter. This is necessary so that excess moisture leaves the roots and they do not rot. But you can add a separate layer to help your plant get rid of excess moisture. Make a 3 to 5 cm layer of gravel, expanded clay, or Styrofoam.

    Features of protection against pests

All outdoor plants need protection from pests, so you need to take their safety into account. There are special fertilizers that protect the soil in the pot. Add this according to the instructions in order to nourish the flower with the necessary trace elements and not harm it. Also, do not forget to cut off the dried leafs and flowers so that insects do not accumulate there. The main enemy of outdoor plants is the spider mite. There are also special sprays for spraying plants to protect their leaves from these and other insects.
