The New Saints Women are delighted to announce the signing of former Everton, Liverpool, and Wolverhampton Wanderers player, Poppy Kendrick-Jones, who joins the club ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The Oswestry-born youngster enjoyed four seasons in total with Everton’s academy, as well as two seasons at Liverpool and a year-long spell with the Wolves U21s side.

Now, Kendrick-Jones has her sights fixed firmly on achieving success with The New Saints FC Women when the new season kicks off on September 15th.

Kendrick-Jones becomes Shauna Duffy’s fifth new addition to the squad so far this summer, with the side having also recently announced the signings of Welsh internationals like Maria Francis-Jones and Lexi Jones, as The Saints look to bolster their ranks ahead of next season.

Speaking on the signing, Shauna Duffy, head coach at The New Saints FC, said:

“I have previously coached Poppy at Liverpool Girls Academy, so naturally I’m very excited to be working with her again in a senior environment.

“She’s got an abundance of talent and is incredibly versatile, so we’re looking forward to having her on board ahead of a huge campaign for the club.

“She will fit right in here as it’s her hometown club, as we look to build a squad that brings success to Park Hall this season.”

    New signing, Poppy Kendrick-Jones, said:

“I’m very excited to be here. Having lived in Oswestry all my life, I’m very aware of the club’s rich history of success and I want to help bring further success to the club next season.

“It’s a very exciting project to be a part of and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into pre-season as we look ahead to September’s opening fixture.”
