The New Saints Women are delighted to announce the signing of Welsh youth international, Lexi Jones, who joins the club ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Jones makes the move to Park Hall on semi-professional terms, meaning The Saints will now boast one of the most exciting young players in North Wales.

The midfielder has made multiple appearances in the Welsh shirt at U17 level, including three in the UEFA European U17 championships which took place earlier this year in Albania.

The Wrexham-born teenager becomes The New Saints’ fourth signing of the summer so far, following on from the previously announced arrivals of Maria Francis-Jones, and Yasmin and Mia Evans.

Jones will now join up with the rest of her teammates for pre-season training and matches, as the build-up continues ahead of the start of the Genero Adran Premier season which kicks off on September 15th.

TNS have enjoyed an exciting summer so far, having moved to a semi-professional model in order to help the club challenge for domestic silverware and make its mark in European competition in the years ahead, and picked up their first pre-season victory against Tranmere Rovers this past weekend.

Speaking on the signing, Shauna Duffy, head coach at The New Saints said:

“We’re delighted to have secured this signing and look forward to implementing Lexi into the squad ahead of the new season.

“Lexi is a player who has incredible pedigree at youth level, both domestically and as well as representing Wales at various levels of the game.

“She is a highly talented player who will bring a lot to the squad and we have an opportunity to help her continue her development with her being so young, which is exciting.”

    New signing, Lexi Jones, said:

“I am really excited to join The New Saints and sign with the club for the season ahead. The club are developing on and off the pitch at the moment so it’s a great time to join and I think it’s the perfect place to continue my development.

“There are outstanding facilities, coaches and talented players at the club. I can’t wait to work hard during pre-season ahead of the new campaign beginning in September.”
