Welsh aluminium contractor Dudley’s Aluminium is celebrating after securing a major contract to support the development on the latest Central Square project later this year with Rightacres.

The Cardiff-based contractor has secured the contract with Sir Robert McAlpine and will also be working closely with Rightacres Property, the developer of Central Square, to ensure that the project continues to meet the high standards that are required for such a development.

Engineers from Dudley’s Aluminium will install Kawneer capped curtain walling and doors throughout Six and Seven Central Square, as well as high quality revolving doors, automatic swing doors and fire rated screens.

Dudley’s Aluminium has played a key role in the development of Central Square, having been involved with the construction of One Central Square, the BBC Cymru Wales Headquarters and Two Central Square.

Speaking about Dudley’s role at Central Square, Managing Director Colin Shorney, said: “We are delighted to have secured another contract to work on the construction of the Central Square development. We have already been involved with other buildings at the site over the last two years, so to secure the contracts to work on the development is incredible, and we look forward to getting started.

“It’s unbelievable looking back and seeing how much the landscape of Cardiff’s city centre has changed and we are proud to be so heavily involved in a project that will provide a real economic boost for the city. Completing the development will be a real landmark project for our company.”

Six and Seven Central Square are the latest office developments in the heart of Cardiff’s city centre and will provide approximately 300,000 sq ft of new office space. The development is located where the former printing press and head officers of the Western Mail were located and will be home to a major Cardiff employer.

Dudley’s engineers will start working at the site this year with the estimated date of completion for May 2019.

Dudley’s reputation for quality has been recognised with several industry-related accreditations. The company is CHAS and Achilles accredited, Constructionline registered and certified to manufacture “Secured by Design” products.

Established in 1993, Dudley’s Aluminium offers clients full in-house design and production facilities, and has completed many successful and prestigious education, health, commercial, retail and defence sector projects throughout the UK and Channel Islands.
