As more people look for rewarding remote career opportunities, one industry that is being considered by many is IT. The sector requires professionals with a wide variety of skills, and many IT roles are currently in high demand. If you enjoy working with computers, here are six roles in IT for you to consider.

    Quality Assurance Tester

The position of a quality assurance tester involves checking software products to make sure they do not have any problems and meet industry standards. Common software that requires quality assurance includes games and mobile applications. Although certifications are not always necessary, most people working in this field hold a bachelor’s degree in a subject like computer science or software design.

    Database Administrator

As a database administrator, you would use specialised software to organise and track data. You could handle elements like security, configuration, and performance. It would be your task to diagnose and solve complex IT issues, so you will typically need to hold a bachelor’s degree in a subject such as information systems or computer science. Many database administrators begin their careers as database developers or analysts before moving into administration.

    UX Designer

A user experience designer is responsible for how a website or webpage looks, feels, and functions. And you need to understand how to create content for different industries. Creating a webpage for playing roulette at an online live casino like Casumo casino will involve different skills and knowledge than creating content for a local hardware store’s website. As a UX designer, you would help to improve a website’s usability, interactivity, and presentation to create an excellent end-user product. Basically, UX designers help websites to stand out against the crowd and attract more visitors, as well as engaging those visitors to take further steps, such as performing calls-to-action. If you want to become a UX designer, consider enrolling with a bachelor’s degree course in an IT field. However, you may be able to secure work without certifications if you have the expertise and experience required by clients.

    Game Designer

You will need some experience under your belt before you can become a fully-fledged game designer, as it is one of the most sought-after roles in the IT industry. However, the demand for game designers is increasing all the time. Game designers help to design video games, such as puzzles, platform games, and RPGs. As a game designer, your duties would include coming up with concepts for games and developing elements like characters and storylines. There are various courses where you can learn the skills required to become a game designer.

    Computer Scientist

Most computer scientists have a bachelor’s degree, but many employers look for candidates with an additional master’s degree. In this role, you would efficiently and expertly write new software and develop new functions. You could develop applications and new programming languages as well. The primary role of a computer scientist is to validate and develop models for interaction between people and computerised devices or software. In addition to gaining university degrees, prospective employers often like you to have previous experience.

    Computer Programmer

If you know coding languages like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, or if you are interested in learning them, you will want to consider a career as a computer programmer. Before you can demand a top position with a lucrative salary, you will typically need to first complete a degree in computer science or a related field to build your skills and gain experience. However, although certifications are highly encouraged, you may be able to gain a role without a university education. One thing is for sure; you must know your chosen programming codes inside-out before you can become a professional programmer. In addition to writing code, your duties in this role could include improving online play of games and troubleshooting.
