Acting on behalf of European manufacturer ReflexAllen, Legat Owen has completed the sale of Phoenix House in Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire.

The 71,3000 sq ft unit, which sits on a 4.46-acre site, has been acquired by North Wales-based Tayna Batteries to facilitate its continued expansion. Tayna, one of the UK’s leading supplier of batteries, will relocate its main business to the new facility while still operating from its existing site in Abergele.

Speaking about the deal, Sam Taylor, director at Tayna, commented: “Due to unprecedented demand for our products we have outgrown our current site and needed to find a suitable facility that will allow us to continue our expansion drive and in so doing deliver a range of new employment opportunities. We are delighted with the purchase and we are very much looking forward to the move.”

ReflexAllen has relocated to a larger unit at the former Hotpoint facility, which sits alongside the A55 in Bodelwyddan. The company is Europe’s leading supplier of power fluid hoses used in a wide range of commercial applications.

Legat Owen’s Industrial team advised ReflexAllen on the sale and Director Stephen Wade commented: “The deal is the final piece of the jigsaw for ReflexAllen who have doubled their manufacturing capability in Bodelwyddan. Our client’s new facility is now in full production following a refurbishment project managed by our building surveying team. In these challenging times it’s a real pleasure to see two North Wales companies expanding and creating new job opportunities in the process.”

Conwy based Lanyon Bowdler solicitors acted for Tayna and BHW advised Reflex and Allen.
