Alun Wyn Jones becomes ambassador of The Residences at Dylan Coastal Resort

Wales and Lions legend Alun Wyn Jones has become a brand ambassador for the new The Residences luxury accommodation at Dylan Coastal Resort, Laugharne.

The most capped Wales player in history has also become one of the first owners of the luxurious, hotel-standard lodges, which have been unveiled as part of Luxury Lodges’ £20 million investment at the South-West Wales resort.

The high-end lodges complete with private hot tubs, have been extremely popular with post-lockdown staycationers since their unveiling earlier this year.

The Residences brand offers a more permanent alternative for investors to enjoy from day to day.

Dylan Coastal Resort provides the perfect retreat for family man Alun Wyn. He and wife Anwen and their two young daughters have already been enjoying time at their holiday home from home.

State-of-the-art £7 million Milk Wood House Spa is a particular highlight for them when they visit from their Mumbles home, just an hour’s drive away from the resort.

“The views here are spectacular,” says Alun Wyn. “The views across the Taf Estuary are like a constantly changing oil painting. The lodges offer luxury hotel quality, but it’s nice to have your own space and area to chill out in the hot tub. For my five-year-old, it’s like having her very own Tŷ Bach Twt! (Wendy House) She’s in her element here.”

The young family uses their two-bedroom Residence as a base to enjoy favourite local attractions like Laugharne Castle, Folly Farm, Saundersfoot, and Tenby.

Alun Wyn said: “As a dad you want to give your family as much of your time as you can, but I can be away a lot with rugby, during competition matches or training camps. I go home to rest, and it’s nice to be able to do that somewhere different. Having somewhere different yet familiar to escape to is ideal. While it sounds like a bit of a cliché, this is a home from home where we have nothing but quality time together.”

Alun Wyn, Anwen and their girls often enjoy family meals at Milk Wood House Spa’s restaurant, where the menu includes seasonal and local ingredients and the freshest of seafood.

Sharon Hurley, founder of Luxury Lodges, grew up in Wales, and says: “Our team has created something truly unique here with The Residences at Dylan Coastal Resort – this is a new dawn for luxury.

“The resort makes the perfect location for a post-pandemic retreat with a real focus on wellbeing across everything we have done here. This makes Alun a very fitting ambassador. He is a celebrated global hero, and even more so in Wales, and particularly here in West Wales.

“We’re very proud to have him associated with Dylan Coastal Resort, as well as the launch of our exclusive new Residences.”

Many of The Residences benefit from floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the shifting seascape and each has a hot tub with breath-taking vistas.
