Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has confirmed the latest arrangements for mobile coronavirus testing facilities in Bridgend County Borough.

A new drive-through mobile testing facility will open on Friday 5 February at the Halo Swimming Pool on Marshfield Avenue in Pyle (CF33 6RP). It will be open daily from 9am until 4pm and booking is essential.

The drive-through facility currently available at the site of the former Revlon/Cosi factory off Oakwood Drive in Maesteg will close at the end of tomorrow (Thursday, 4 February).

A walk-through testing facility remains in place at the Bowls Hall car park off Bridgend Life Centre (Angel Street, Bridgend CF31 4AH). The facility is available 8am-8pm, seven days a week, and booking is also essential.

To arrange an appointment for either of these testing facilities, visit the Welsh Government website or call 119. People with hearing or speech difficulties can book an appointment by calling 18001119.

Council Leader Huw David said: “It is important that residents who have symptoms continue to get tested as coronavirus is still circulating in our communities.

“While the vaccine roll-out offers hope for a way out of the pandemic, it will take some time for everyone to be offered it so it’s vital that we continue to do all we can to help limit the spread of the virus. You will be contacted when it is your turn to have a vaccine – please do not tie up resources by enquiring about it at a pharmacist or GP.

“Please continue to keep a two-metre distance from others, wash your hands regularly, and wear a face covering where required.

“If you feel unwell, visit NHS 111 Wales online or contact your local community pharmacist. If necessary, you can also contact your local GP, but please only call 999 or attend the emergency department if you are experiencing life-threatening symptoms.”
