Staff and pupils at a Neath primary school have received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Swansea.

Crynallt Primary School aims to create a caring and creative learning environment where pupils develop as ambitious, capable learners and ethically informed citizens. The school ensures that every child feels valued as an individual, and that all members of the school are creative, healthy and confident.

The school runs many projects for its pupils including a film club, an ECO committee, a Rights Respecting Council, a School Council, and a pupil-led Welsh language website.

The donation will go towards developing more outdoor learning opportunities for their more vulnerable pupils.

Chris Law, General Manager at Amazon in Swansea, said: “Amazon in Swansea is home to many of the mums, dad, and guardians of Crynallt Primary School pupils and we’re pleased to make this donation. It’s a fantastic school that offers the best possible start in life for young boys and girls in South Wales.”

Helen Woodford, of Crynallt Primary School added: “We are excited to receive this donation and we would like to thank Chris and the Amazon team in Swansea. The support will help us continue to improve our school’s hands-on curriculum, which allows pupils to learn through exploration, discovery, excitement and fun.”

The donation was made as part of the “Amazon in the Community” programme, whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.

Community donations are one of a number of ways in which Amazon is supporting communities across the UK during COVID-19.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering over 2 million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
