LinkedInLocal Swansea launched in May and has already held one successful event attended by 30 local businesses, many of whom were meeting for the first time.

For those new to LinkedInLocal, it is a meetup concept that allows people to connect offline with their LinkedIn network to build meaningful relationships. The idea in short is to claim the social back from social media allowing people to meet the real people behind the profile pic and catchy headline.

The second LinkedInLocal event is taking place at Americanos in SA 1 on 26th July and will feature informal networking, refreshments and special guests #fortheRegion. Local businessman Bhupinder Sidhu is one of the organisers and explained the aim:

“We want to use the power of the LinkedInLocal brand to get businesses in the Swansea area together, so they can get to know each other and hopefully do more business locally. By working together we should be able to strengthen the local business sector which will be positive news for all concerned.”

This aim of growing local business and increasing prosperity is also a key aim of new regional engagement hub #4theRegion who have accepted an invitation to speak at LinkedInLocal Swansea.  #4theRegion is a pioneering new hub for regional engagement launched by local entrepreneurs and including more than 150 businesses in South West Wales.

Managing Director Zoe Antrobus and Director Dawn Lyle from #4theRegion will be attending LinkedInLocal Swansea to meet the businesses talking part and to talk about the role SME’s can play in building regional prosperity.

Bhupinder said about the upcoming event, “Our LinkedIners are really looking forward to meeting Zoe and Dawn, our group predominately features SME businesses and we feel it’s vital that the role of that sector in regional prosperity is recognised and encouraged. It should be an interesting and productive evening for all involved.”
