New online marketplace Boxini is making it easier than ever to shop local, from the comfort of your own home. Launched last year, Boxini gives you access to delicious, fresh, and top-quality groceries from independent local businesses in South Wales. It has never been easier to support local in one convenient doorstep delivery.

Dominic and Dan Gambarini launched Boxini last year, providing a new way to shop at popular independent stores during and after the pandemic. Of Welsh Italian descent, the brothers come from a rich family history of butchers, bakers, green grocers, and restaurateurs, picking up their taste for fine foods in the Princes Restaurant and Bakery, Pontypridd, which has delivered absolute quality for over seven decades. It is this up-bringing, surrounded by food that Dominic and Dan learned the importance of supporting local businesses who share their passions.

Boxini has been built from the ground up to celebrate and promote what Cardiff has to offer:

“We’ve always thought that Cardiff has a very impressive independent food scene and a fantastic selection of independent producers. Having always shopped locally for groceries as much as we possibly could, we identified an opportunity that would allow customers to shop local in a much more convenient and sustainable way”.

Not just providing a convenient platform for you to shop at all your favourite independent food spots, regardless of any lockdowns, Boxini also offers a unique experience allowing you to discover new and upcoming brands in the Cardiff area.

Thanks to their impressive list of suppliers, Boxini has made it easier than ever to get your hands on a jar of Espresso Martini marmalade from Rhondda based chutney champions, Rogue that will go nicely with a Spiced Fruit Loaf from multi-award-winning Hay-On-Wye baker, Alex Gooch. Or perhaps a fresh cut Sirloin straight from the Oriel Jones family farm in the Cambrian Mountains. Other customer favourites include:

    • Ashton Fishmongers
    • Bar 44
    • Pipes Beer
    • Hardlines
    • Sullivan’s Fruit and Veg
    • Bee & Bonnet
    • Oriel Jones
    • Alex Gooch Bakery

You can get your orders in today on their website, with deliveries made to your home every Wednesday and Friday.
