Whether you’re reaching for the sun cream, or pulling on your wellies, National Trust Cymru have a host of events and activities for the whole family this May half term, whatever the Welsh weather has in store.

Join a quest to find dragons, explore the wonderful world of pollinators, or dust off your detective skills to reconnect with nature. Which adventure will you choose?

At busier times such as weekends and school holidays, booking is recommended to guarantee entry.

Find a place to visit near you…

    Tredegar House, Newport

    4 May to 30 June, 10.30am to 5pm

Unwind in the great outdoors this half term and join the Adventures in Nature trail at Tredegar House. Dust off your detective skills and reconnect with the natural world as you seek out different locations, each with exciting self-led nature-based activities to entertain the whole family.

Normal admission prices apply, plus £2 per trail.

    Powis Castle and Garden, Welshpool

    26 May to 27 June, 10am to 4pm.

Shake those tail feathers and join the Peacock Trail at Powis Castle this May half term. Hunt along the Italianate Terraces and in the shade of giant yew hedges to find the footprints of some the castle’s most famous residents. Discover what’s waiting at the end to claim your own chocolate peacock egg.

Normal admission prices apply, plus £1 per trail.

    Chirk Castle, Wrexham

    29 May to 6 June, 10am to 5pm

Adventure awaits on the Dragon Trail at Chirk Castle this May half term. Collect your Dragon Egg and hunt high and low in the beautiful Formal Garden to find Llewelyn, our friendly Welsh dragon. From spotting giant dragon eggs to making friends with a bug, Llewellyn will show you all his favourite things to do in the garden this spring.

    Normal admission prices apply.

    Erddig, Wrexham

    29 May to 4 July, 10am to 5pm

As spring gives way to summer, something is creating a buzz in the beautiful garden at Erddig. Follow the flight path of a busy bee through the walled garden on the Hello Honey family trail. Explore self-led activity stations and learn more about these amazing creatures and how we can help them as their numbers decline.

    Normal admission prices apply.

    Penrhyn Castle, Bangor

    29 May to 6 June – 10am to 4pm

Don’t forget to collect some sunflower seeds as you leave – will your sunflower grow taller than our Head Gardener’s?

    Plas Newydd, Anglesey

    29 May to 6 June – 10.30am to 5pm
